By train

Direct trains from Vienna, Bratislava and Prague will take you right to the railway station, less than 5 minutes’ walk from the city centre. The comfortable journey by EC/IC train from Prague takes 8 hours, 7.5 hours by a SC Pendolino train and it takes less than 5 hours to get to Košice from Bratislava.
If you travel at night, you can use a sleeper, or take a motorail train. Private RegioJet trains will take you to Košice from Prague in 8 hours. LeoExpress trains cover the distance in approximately 9 hours. Košice is also linked by rail to Budapest, with two direct connections – morning and afternoon, with the journey taking around 3.5 hours. Kiev is another destination that the city has direct connections with.
