An underground museum complex with the original gateway to the city and original fortifications, built between the 13th and 15th century, which were uncovered during the reconstruction work on Hlavná Street in 1996. In addition to the fortifications, you can also find artefacts from the St. Elizabeth’s Cathedral and fragments of former sewage system here. The premises can be booked for events and private functions.

Nižná Myšľa Local Museum
A museum situated in the building of the former Myšľa monastery can be found in the nearby village of Nižná Myšľa, where in 1977 extensive research was carried out on the Late Bronze Age settlement and graveyard – the oldest settlement in Slovakia. Do not miss out on a tour of the exhibits, which include the artefacts that moose and mammoth hunters used in their houses and buried with their loved ones. These include the best-known and oldest Slovak toy – a clay cart. You can also investigate the underground catacombs of the monastery.

Sándor Márai Memorial Exhibition
The Sándor Márai Memorial Exhibition was opened January 22, 2019. The Sándor Márai Memorial Room was opened on the ground floor of the house in May 1998 and has since been the scene of several exhibitions featuring the life and work of the city’s famous native son. The humble memorial room has now been expanded to accommodate a unique exhibition whose ambition is to pay homage to Sándor Márai’s memory in the city that played a central part in his life.

Slovak Technical Museum
The only museum in Slovakia with many expositions on various topics such as metallurgy, mechanical engineering, artistic metalwork, the development of geodetic equipment and cartography, or the development of typewriting machines. It also includes the Aurel Stodola energy department and a hall focusing on electric charge.
Slovak Technical Museum as the only one Museum with the technical direction on the territory of Slovakia affords the view to the history and to the tradition of the scientific and technic. Museum has accumulated more than 16 000 collections. A lot of them representing irreplacable values. The historical building of the Slovak Technical Museum was transformed in a Science and Technical Centre for youth and children. The exhibition is focused on presenting physical, chemical, astronomic and mathematical phenomena and know-how.

Planetarium is an optical mechanism placed in the middle of round room which has an 8 m width, the white hemisphere, showing the fake sky, is vaulting over the heads of a visitors. For the visitors interested in astronomy it shows the night sky with stars, planets, sun, moon, unusual phenomenon and the movements of the sky figures.

Visit with your children the entertainment technical center Steel Park. This Project is the result of an active cooperation of U. S. Steel Košice, s.r.o. and three educational and scientific institutions - Technical University in Košice, University P. J. Šafárik and Slovak Academy of Sciences. The exhibition offers to visitors the active playing with more than 50 exhibits demonstrating the story of steel, from the area of metallurgy, geology, physics, chemistry, safety, engineering, and other.
